A Week of Babysitting Avery
Last week, I watched Addy's cousin, Avery while Aunt Kristen taught a class in Oxford. I was a tad worried b/c these two girls together can be a bit crazy. So to ensure everything went well, we had lesson plans and a week of fun, arts and crafts, gymnastics, and activities.
Monday, we went to gymnastics and did pom-pom art. The girls had a blast using the pom-poms and did super with their glue bottles.

Day 2- Self Portraits

This is the point that Addy realized it looked like her... "Mommy, it's me!"
Day 3-Painting Princess Crowns

"Hey, I like your crown!"
Day 4- Children's Museum
A great week full of fun!! :)

The Happiest Place on Earth
We headed to Disney for a family vacation with the Finneys and Lazutas at the end of June. Despite Hurricane Debby trying to "dampen" (lol) our plans, we had a great time. We were able to visit all 4 parks, my favorite being Animal Kingdom. We didn't have to wait longer than 15 minutes for anything, thanks to Nana's recent knee injury and the handicap pass. :) Both Addy & Avery enjoyed everything and didn't complain once about the torrential downpours and being forced to wear ponchos for 2 of the park days. Addy was a bit skeptical of the princesses at the beginning of the week, but the time Lunch with the Princesses came around on Friday, she was all for it. She also thoroughly enjoyed the shows- Beauty and the Beast, Lion King, Finding Nemo, Turtle Talk w/Crush, Little Mermaid-- maybe we have a future Broadway lover on our hands??
I have never been a lover of Disney, but this trip may have changed my mind. Seeing the smile on Addy's face when she hugged the princesses, the sparkle in her eyes as she watched the shows, and the sheer joy as she raised her arms on rides may have swayed my opinion. Disney World is indeed the happiest place on Earth because it 110% made our little girl's dreams come true! :)

Hilton Head Island
At the beginning of June, we ventured to Hilton Head for the annual Schubert vacation. Hard to believe, this was Addy's 3rd year on the island. She loved every bit of it, except for the sand-- but she got better as the week progressed. She was wonderful the entire trip and didn't cry at all during the whole 12 hour drive down. The way back was a bit different, but she was still a champ. Thanks to Mom and Dad for taking us on this vacation. It was full of fun times and wonderful memories.
